F. Barry Lawrence, PhD

Dr. Barry Lawrence has served on the Relevant Solutions Board of Directors since 2014. A professor at Texas A&M University, Dr. Lawrence is Coordinator of the Industrial Distribution Program; Director of the Thomas and Joan Read Center for Distribution Research and Education; and Director the Global Supply Chain Laboratory. He also holds the prestigious Leonard and Valerie Bruce Leadership Chair. His faculty duties include teaching graduate, undergraduate and professional continuing education classes in logistics, Supply Chain Management, distribution information systems and distribution strategy, and working on funded research projects, publications and industry presentations. He is a frequent speaker for distribution associations and companies on topics in his areas of research, ranging from optimizing growth and market share, to sales and marketing optimization, inventory and other asset management, network improvements, transportation and logistics, and best practices and information systems for distribution operations. He has worked on many large industry projects and had more than 12 years of industry experience in sales and retail business before joining Texas A&M. Dr. Lawrence holds a Ph.D. degree in Information and Operations Management from Texas A&M University, a Master of Business Administration degree from Texas State University and a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.
